Medan, September 6, 2023 – PT Prima Regional Development (PPK), a subsidiary of PT Pelindo Solusi Logistik (SPSL), also celebrated the 2nd anniversary of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) after the merger.
PT Prima Regional Development contributes to the Pelindo Tree Planting Program, which is part of the Environmental Priority Social Responsibility Program (TJSL), and supports efforts to reduce carbon emissions and preserve ports and the environment. This activity was carried out simultaneously by all Pelindo Regional and Subholdings to mark the second Pelindo Day commemoration in 2023 and to commemorate International Ozone Layer Protection Day, observed on September 16, 2023, a Saturday. PT Prima Regional Development (PT PPK), in collaboration with PT Prima Indonesia Logistik (PT PIL) and PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) Regional 1, planted 250 seedlings in the University of North Sumatra (USU) area.
This activity was attended by the Main Director of PT PPK, Jansen Sitohang; the Director of PT PIL, Indra Pamulihan; Regional Head 1 of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero), Yarham Harid; the Deputy Chancellor of USU, and several other related parties. In addition to tree planting, this activity involved the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) and the University of North Sumatra regarding the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, followed by an exchange of plaques.
Previously, the SPSL Group conducted environmental conservation and management activities by planting 44,000 rizophorha stylosa (anchor mangrove) mangrove seeds using the Organic Coastal Defense (OCD) technique in an area of approximately 8 hectares on the coast of Pasir Village, Mempawah District, Hilir, Mempawah Regency on August 31, 2023.
PT PPK also participated in other positive activities, namely a blood donation drive organized by Pelindo Multi Terminal (SPMT) Subholding. A total of 213 blood bags were collected during the blood donation drive held by PT Pelindo Multi Terminal or SPMT at the Grha Pelindo Lobby, Belawan Harbor, Medan, which took place on September 20-21, 2023. This activity, themed “Sharing Blood Saves Lives,” was carried out in collaboration with the United Pelindo Workers Union and the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI). The series of activities leading up to the peak celebration of Pelindo’s 2nd anniversary on October 1, 2023, proceeded solemnly and energetically.
In a different setting, the Main Director of PT PPK welcomed these activities, stating, “Yes, we hope that this will serve as an open door for Pelindo to continue achieving its planned targets and also as a reflection point to keep moving forward, as this year’s theme suggests: ‘Pelindo advances, Indonesia advances.’ This is also an encouragement for PT PPK to continue achieving future successes,” said the Director of PT PPK, Jansen Sitohang (October 3, 2023).
