Medan, September 06, 2023 – North Sumatra Province is one of the pillars of national economic growth outside Java due to its geographical advantages. This province shares a direct border with the Malacca Strait, making North Sumatra the center of national trade and connectivity in the Western region of Indonesia. Additionally, North Sumatra Province has seven megaprojects ready to be offered to investors, one of which is the Kuala Tanjung Industrial Area project.
PT Prima Regional Development (PPK), a subsidiary of PT Pelindo Solusi Logistik (SPSL), also participated in the North Sumatra Invest Promotion Forum 2023, held at the Raffles Hotel in Jakarta on Monday, August 21, 2023. This event, aimed at promoting investment opportunities in North Sumatra Province, was organized by the North Sumatra Provincial Government, KADIN, and the Bank Indonesia Representative Office for North Sumatra Province.
Joeanna, the Commercial Manager of PT PPK, explained that KIKT offers excellent investment opportunities. “PT PPK is prepared to explore cooperation with all investors interested in the KIKT Project. We also offer numerous advantages, including a strategic location close to Kuala Tanjung Port, which can streamline existing logistics costs,” said Joeanna on August 21.
Yura Djalins, Deputy Director of Accounting and Payment Systems at the North Sumatra BI Representative Office, delivered a presentation on the Economic Potential of North Sumatra and Bank Indonesia’s role in encouraging investment and economic growth in North Sumatra. In North Sumatra, North Sumatra Invest (NSI) has been established and collaborates with Regional/Regency/City Governments to introduce Regional Investment Potential and Capacity Building.
H. Faisal Arif Nasution, the Head of the DPMPTSP Pemprovsu, also conveyed a similar message, stating that a RANPERDA is currently being prepared concerning the provision of Incentives and Investment Facilitation in North Sumatra. This is part of the North Sumatra Provincial Government’s efforts to make investing easier and enhance the realization of North Sumatra’s investment opportunities.
Separately, Jansen Sitohang, the Main Director of PT PPK, emphasized that the KIKT project would have a positive impact on national economic growth in the future. “PT PPK will always play an active role in attending investment forums to promote KIKT and hopes that the Regional Government will support it with regulations to facilitate investment,” explained Jansen on September 06.
It’s worth noting that this event was also attended by the Regional Secretary of North Sumatra/Assistant for the Economy and Economic Development of North Sumatra, the Head of the Provincial Youth and Sports Service, the Head of the Provincial Transportation Service, the Director of the Lake Toba Authority Implementing Agency, the Main Director of PT. Medan Industrial Area, the Main Director of PT. Angkasa Pura AVIASI, and the Director of PT. Nusantara Industrial Zone.
