Medan, January 15, 2024 _ In commemoration of National Occupational Safety and Health (K3) Month, which is observed by the Government from January 12 to February 12 each year, PT Prima Regional Development (PPK), a subsidiary of PT Pelindo Solusi Logistik (SPSL), participated in the National K3 Month Commemoration Event. This event, organized by PT Pelindo Multi Terminal (SPMT), took place at the Belawan Harbor Shorebase Field on January 12, led by SPMT’s Main Director, Yon Irawan, and attended by employees from the Pelindo Group.
In his speech, Yon Irawan relayed a message from the Indonesian Minister of Manpower, emphasizing that a key element in developing a superior employment ecosystem is establishing a robust K3 culture. He noted that with an exemplary K3 culture, the frequency of work accidents and related illnesses can be significantly reduced, leading to an increase in work productivity.
Elsewhere, Jansen Sitohang, the Main Director of PT PPK, mentioned that PT PPK’s involvement extended beyond participating in the National K3 Month activities. “We constantly remind our workers to prioritize health and safety at work. As part of the K3 Month commemoration, PT PPK will also launch public service announcements on social media to highlight the importance of K3,” said Jansen on January 15.
It’s important to note that the goal of National K3 Month in 2024 is to heighten awareness and adherence to K3 standards and ensure K3 protection across all business sectors. A particular focus is on maintaining optimal health for industrial workers to prevent accidents and work-related illnesses. For National K3 Month 2024, the Ministry of Manpower has adopted the theme ‘Cultivate K3, Stay Healthy and Safe at Work, Maintain Business Sustainability’.
