Medan, Tuesday, July 30, 2024 – PT Prima Pembangunan Kawasan (PT PPK) as a subsidiary of PT Pelindo Solusi Logistik which is part of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) (Pelindo Group) visited the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Medan. The visit was led by Akhirman, President Director of PT Prima Pengembangan Kawasan, and accompanied by H.B. Sumartin Pasaribu, Vice President of Commercials. The visit was received directly by Consul General Li Hongwei.
This visit is a follow-up to the Investment Project Site Visit activity held by North Sumatera Investment recently, where Li Hongwei was interested in the presentation related to the Kuala Tanjung Industrial Area. Li Hongwei said that there is an investor from China, namely Zhejiang Seaport Group, who is interested in expanding their business in Indonesia, especially in Kuala Tanjung.
“Zhejiang Seaport Group plans to visit the Kuala Tanjung Industrial Area in the near future. The visit was carried out in an effort to cooperate in the development of the Kuala Tanjung Industrial Area,” said Li Hongwei. In the introduction to investment potential in the North Sumatra region, there are dozens of large companies from China that are paying attention to the development and investment potential of Kuala Tanjung to increase its status to KEK in order to provide better fiscal incentive facilities to prospective investors.
Akhirman expressed his gratitude for Li Hongwei’s welcome at the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China. “PT Prima Pembangunan Kawasan is very open to potential cooperation in the Kuala Tanjung Industrial Area (KIKT). KIKT is an Industrial Area that has many advantages, including being close to Kuala Tanjung Port, having a hinterland in the form of extensive oil palm plantations, and many accesses to the Industrial Area, namely via railways, toll roads and a fairly close distance from Medan City,” said Akhirman.
Regarding the planned visit of the Zhejiang Seaport Group to KIKT, Akhirman admitted that he was ready and could not wait to receive the visit. He hopes that the visit can pave the way for other large foreign investors to glance at the Kuala Tanjung Industrial Area.
The Kuala Tanjung Industrial Area is one of the national strategic projects that the government has determined. PT Prima Pengembangan Kawasan was appointed to build, develop, and manage the Kuala Tanjung Industrial Area.
